Title & Purpose

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:

for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand, Joel 2:1.

Further connections between the European Union and Scripture Prophecy

Historically, for some time, the European Union has been using imagery that has a very close connection with Scripture prophecy.

As far back as 1984 a postage stamp was released to mark the second election to the European Parliament. That stamp depicted a woman riding a beast.

The widely read Time magazine once depicted an United Europe as a woman riding a beast

There is a sculpture of a woman riding a beast which stands outside the Council of Ministers Office in Brussels.

In 2002 when the Euro was introduced and each participating country minted their own coins which had on one side that which resembled Europe and on the reverse that which was a reflection of the member state the Greeks used the image of the woman riding the beast as their member state contribution.

The European Union, once produced a poster symbolically depicting its purpose and mission. The poster combined the 12 stars of the European Union flag with the image of the rebuilding of a tower. The poster contains the motto Europe: Many Tongues One Voice.

This imagery of the tower is very similar to a painting from 1563 of the Tower of Babel, by Pieter Brueghel the Elder, a Flemish Northern Renaissance Painter. The similarity is striking!

Furthermore, the similarities between the depiction of the ancient Tower of Babel in that painting and the modern Strasbourg Parliament building has been highlighted by some in the past.

There is more to the European Union project than peace. It is is about power and ultimately the bringing in of the kingdom of Antichrist.

Are these just mere and strange coincidences or are they pointers to the part that the nations of Europe and the European Union will play in furthering the rise of the man of sin?
